Fund Serbia's First Satellite
A real campaign plan for a Serbian Earth-observation CubeSat — not a live payment page yet.
What should it be used for?
Recommendation: an Earth-observation CubeSat focused on agriculture, flood, and forestry/wildfire monitoring — real, ongoing value to Serbian farmers and emergency-management agencies, not just a symbolic gesture. This is also the standard path most nations' first satellites take, so there's a well-worn technical route to follow. A student-built ground station and university partnership can fold in an educational angle without needing a second campaign.
What this costs
A realistic 3U CubeSat mission — bus, payload, rideshare launch, ground station, licensing, and contingency — runs roughly $500,000 to $1,200,000. That range is normal at this planning stage; it narrows once a technical partner is chosen.
Funding tiers (illustrative)
| Tier | Amount | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Supporter | $10+ | Name on a public digital "crew list," mission updates |
| Contributor | $50+ | Above + certificate, VASIONA sticker/patch |
| Mission Partner | $250+ | Above + your name etched on a plaque flown to orbit |
| Founding Partner | $1,000+ | Above + invitation to a launch-viewing event |
| Institutional | $10,000+ | Logo placement on mission materials |
Major Local Sponsors
Beyond individual crowdfunding tiers, we're opening a small number of major sponsorship slots for Serbian businesses and organizations who want their support to be physically part of the mission — not just a logo on a webpage. This is a direct conversation, not a self-serve checkout, since naming rights and physical placement need to be coordinated with the technical build.
- Satellite naming rights — your company/brand name (or a name you choose) becomes the mission's official designation
- A custom mission description or dedication written into official mission materials and press communications
- Your company's label, tag, or sticker physically applied to the satellite structure itself before integration and launch
- Priority recognition across VASIONA's public channels (site, social media) tied to the mission specifically, not just general sponsorship
Slots are limited by the physical space available on a small CubeSat and by how many distinct sponsor identities a single mission narrative can reasonably carry — this is a handful of major partners, not an open marketplace.
